DENTONS ADVISES THE UNDERWRITERS ON A €500 MILLION ISSUE OF BONDS BY RELXPublished : 7 years ago, on
Dentons is pleased to have advised the syndicate of underwriters, BofA Merrill Lynch, Citi, Morgan Stanley, SMBC Nikko, ABN AMRO and RBC Capital Markets, on the issue by RELX PLC (“RELX”) of €500 million 1.500 per cent guaranteed bonds due 2027.
RELX is a FTSE 100-listed company and the RELX Group (“the Group”) is a global provider of information and analytics for professional and business customers across industries. The Group serves customers in more than 180 countries and has offices in about 40 countries. It employs about 30,000 people of whom almost half are in North America. RELX intends to use the proceeds of the bonds for general corporate purposes.
This deal represents the second time Dentons has been appointed as English law counsel to the underwriters on a bond issue by RELX in just over a year. In the previous deal, Dentons advised a syndicate of six underwriters on euro-denominated dual tranche bonds due 2021 and 2024.
Dentons’ London-based Capital Markets partner Nick Hayday, who led on the transaction, said, “We are delighted to have worked closely with the underwriters and the RELX treasury team on this successful bond issue. This transaction further demonstrates our ability to execute very high profile debt capital markets transactions for the lead managers.”
In addition to Nick Hayday, associates Nicholas Yao and MoeenQayum advised on the transaction, along with trainee Niharika Khimji. Partner Matthew Sapte and associate Divyank Aggarwal advised Citibank as trustee on the transaction.
