Former Morgan Stanley Counsel Ella Cohen Joins Rimon’s New York OfficePublished : 7 years ago, on
Rimon Law is proud to welcome Ella D. Cohen as Special Counsel in the firm’s Financial Services group. Ms. Cohen will practice out of New York City.
Ms. Cohen joins Rimon from Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. where she worked for eleven years, most recently as the U.S. Head of Institutional Legal.
At Rimon, Ms. Cohen joins a 25-attorney strong Financial Services group, representing clients in international, national and regional enterprises. The group includes numerous attorneys who previously held senior in-house counsel positions at leading banks and financial services companies, including Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, Charles Schwab Investment Management, Salomon Brothers, Wasserstein Perella, Robertson Stephens & Dougherty & Company.
The Financial Services team also works closely with the Corporate and Tax teams to ensure that clients receive complete service from start to finish.
Ms. Cohen advises clients on all areas of asset management, including counseling registered investment advisers on legal, regulatory, operational and compliance aspects of their advisory business. Ms. Cohen represents clients in negotiating investment management agreements, model delivery agreements and advisory agreements with institutional clients such as corporations, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and pension plans. Her practice is also heavily concentrated in advising clients on structuring offshore and onshore private funds and providing advice with respect to marketing, distribution and solicitation issues.

Ms. Cohen earned her B.S. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
