Society appoints new Head of IT and ChangePublished : 6 years ago, on
Leek United’s new Head of IT and Change brings – quite literally – a world of experience and expertise to the role.
Keith Edwards has joined the Society from Vodafone, where he was responsible for delivering technology solutions to commercial customers across four continents and eight countries.
Customers can be assured of his attention to security, too; prior to Vodafone, Keith worked as Electronic Monitoring IT Manager at G4S, heading up the division that provided electronic ‘tagging’ of offenders for the Ministry of Justice.
“Coming to Leek United has given me a much wider remit, involving the end-to-end delivery of IT,” said Keith.
“As a traditional building society, it has a very broad customer base; the challenge for us is to determine how best IT can serve the business, and use technology to support the business moving forward in the way customers want us to.”
Originally from Manchester, Keith took a break from university studies and began working as a help-desk engineer, before opting to further his career in IT.
He qualified and worked as a support analyst and systems engineer, before joining G4S in 2005.
Keith lives in Glossop – ‘a comfortable commute to Leek’ – with his wife, Kathryn and their three children, enjoys road cycling in his spare time, and in 2014 completed a coast-to-coast bike journey in a single day!
