Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of partner Andrew Hough to the firm’s Corporate department in Atlanta. Hough joins Seyfarth from Ballard Spahr LLP where he was a partner in their Atlanta office. While there, he was a member of the business and finance, mergers and acquisitions/private equity, transactional finance, securities, life sciences and technology practice areas.
Hough advises financial and strategic clients regularly on general business matters, domestically and internationally, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, and outsourcing transactions. His clients operate in a wide variety of industries, including food and beverage, technology, communications, health care, supply chain, and aviation.
“Andrew is an exceptional attorney. He has guided his clients through numerous challenges and complex transactions,” said Paul Mattingly, chair of Seyfarth’s Corporate department. “We continue to grow our corporate team nationally and in Atlanta. With his strength in private equity and M&A, Andrew is an important addition.”
Earlier in his career, Hough served as the general counsel for Gate Gourmet, the world’s largest independent provider of airline catering and provisioning services. A frequent speaker, Hough served as moderator and keynote panelist for the Southeast Venture Conference in 2011.
“Andrew has a strong background both as an in-house general counsel and representing clients in the mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital space,” said Steve Kennedy, managing partner of Seyfarth’s Atlanta office. “His ability to collaborate with lawyers from all practice areas is a great benefit to our Atlanta office and the firm overall.”
Hough received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and earned a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Hough’s arrival follow the recent additions of John Shire (Washington, D.C.), William Eck (Washington, D.C.), Timothy Bennett (Boston), Gordon Peery (Los Angeles), Andrew Sherman (Washington, D.C.), Julia Jacobson (Boston) and Thomas Schramkowski (Atlanta). Seyfarth’s Corporate department focuses on areas such as commercial transactions, corporate counseling, financing, international business, investment management, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and tax planning.
